Astro Jump's founding fathers, Dan and Sloat came into town this week to discuss the latest in inflatable entertainment rentals. Dan is from the Bayou State and Sloat from the West Coast. We love when they visit, and this time was no different. We, at Astro Jump of Louisville, always try to show them a little something unique to Kentucky when they come.
We decided to have an impromptu surprise dinner party for them and the Astro Jump of Louisville office and delivery crew on Tuesday night. Being locally owned, we are all about supporting small businesses, so we called upon Red Top Gourmet Dogs. www.redtopdogs.com
Red Top is a local food truck, run by a man named Ryan, who features a menu made up of unique dishes, and most of his products are acquired right here in the state! He has hot dogs (and I use that term loosely-these are gargantuan, intensely flavored bits of heaven), truffle chips and brussels sprouts, pretzel sticks and even a vegan hot dog option. My personal favorite is the Louisville….it’s served on a pretzel bun with beer cheese, coney sauce and mustard. The Black and Blue is delicious too…it’s topped with blue cheese and a blackberry jam.
He is currently working on opening a brick and mortar location in Germantown and I implore you to check him out. His prices are pretty fair, and he is a kind person. He came and set up his food truck in the driveway and worked diligently to get our orders out quickly which was no small task, seeing as we had upwards of 30 people…none of which were disappointed.
Ya’ll—small businesses are where it’s at!! Make it your goal to find one, patronize it, support it, promote it…help keep business local and in our community!
